Marion County, Mo. Emergency Management Director John Hark called the KHQA-TV newsroom shortly after 5 p.m. to say that crews will install flood gates at Center and Hill Streets starting Friday morning, May 1.

As of 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, the National Weather Service reports the Mississippi River stage at Hannibal is 16.8 feet;  technical flood stage is 16 feet; the river is projected to crest at Hannibal at 20.8 on Monday morning, May 4.
