James Reid home from Baghdad for brief stay
Quincy, IL-- A local soldier was able to return home to see his family for a short time.James Reid's is a Private in the U.S. Army. His unit was deployed to Baghdad in February. He's only home for 14 days so his mother hosted a picnic at South Park Sunday, May 3 to allow family and friends to visit.
Reid says the most difficult thing about being away from home is not having the luxuries such as Tv and internet, but most importantly his family.
That's why Reid and his mom have been catching up on lost time.
"A little bit of everything. He's been seeing a lot of his friends, his girlfriend, but we've been kind of hanging out around the house and doing different things," said mother Nancy Crossno.
Q:What's it like being home and seeing all your family and friends?
Soldier James Reid says,"It's exciting. I can go back with a clear head now. Now that I've seen everybody and that everybody's ok."
Reid expects to be home for good in February of 2010.
