(AP) -- BURLINGTON, Iowa - A judge has rejected an agreement that would have imprisoned a former Keokuk man who pleaded guilty to several December arson fires in Burlington's South Hill neighborhood.
Judge John Linn on Monday refused to sign off on an agreement between 26-year-Keith Allen Dunn and Des Moines County prosecutors.
Dunn entered Alford pleas to two counts of first-degree arson and two counts of second-degree arson. Under the plea, he doesn't admit guilt but acknowledges there is enough evidence to likely convict him.
Dunn had agreed to serve 25 years for each count of first-degree arson and 10 years for each count of second-degree arson. The terms would be concurrent, so he'd serve each penalty at the same time.
Dunn will return to court May 11.
