KEOKUK, Iowa (AP) - Police say a woman jumped off an observation deck on an old bridge in Keokuk and fell about 40 feet to a paved road below.

The incident happened about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Police Chief Thomas Crew on Friday identified the woman as 20-year-old Amanda Bunn, of Keokuk. Officials say she was conscious when emergency crews arrived.

Bunn was flown to University Hospitals in Iowa City. There was no immediate information on her condition.

The old Keokuk-Hamilton bridge is a double-deck bridge over the Mississippi River for highway and rail traffic.

Firefighter Gabe Rose says the upper deck was turned into an observation deck to view the river. He says it's no longer used for

highway traffic, but is still used for rail traffic.
