Quincy, Ill.--Truck drivers could soon gain more speed on Illinois highways.

Monday the Illinois House passed a bill that would raise the speed limits for semi-trucks. We first told you in March that the proposed bill would set a uniform speed limit for truck drivers and cars at 65 miles per hour on rural interstate highways.

Right now, trucks can only travel 55 miles per hour on rural interstates in Illinois.  The bill now heads to Governor Pat Quinn's desk.
