Furniture store could become grocer in west end

MACOMB IL -- Brenner Furniture in Macomb is closing after 60 years in business. But just as it shuts its doors, another business may move in.

S & W Management of Chicago is currently waiting on approval by the Illinois Department of Commerce to convert Brenner's into a grocery store.  If approved, S & W would have two years to complete the store.

A poll conducted by the Macomb Journal found that nearly 88 percent of people would like to see a grocery store on Macomb's west end, and would shop there if it opens.
