Too few people have too much power in the state
QUINCY, Illinois- Nine Chicago democrats have run the state of Illinois into the ground...and it time for a change.
That's the message from the newly announced candidate for the top job in Illinois, Dan Proft.
Proft is a well known Chicago radio personality.
He made a stop in Quincy this morning to announce his intention to run for Governor on the republican ticket.
He says that one of the biggest problems in the state is double dipping.
Proft says that more than 3 thousand politIcally connected people have more than 1 public pension.
And it's being paid for by average citizens who's seen their own 401 K's plummet in value.
Proft says there are several things that need to be done to get the state back on track, "Eliminate double dipping, return the state's pension system, rescind Medicade back to where it was historically, reshape the way we do education in this state."
He also says that 9 Chicago democrats control 70 billion dollars worth of government,125,000 public sector jobs and nobody is holding them accountable for what he calls the" economic devastation" they've put the state in.
Proft says he's running for the people who are sick and tired of the same old, same old.
He says Illinois needs a fundamental change in direction and he's the man to do it.
"If folks want to really fundamentally re-order the balance of power in this state then my campaign is for them. If they want to tinker on the margains with the empty rhetoric and false compassion of the politicians from both parties in Springfield that we've seen for the last two administrations at least, then their going to have a lot of other choices."
Proft says Illinois has its highest unemployment rate in 25 years right now.
