Electrical problem seems to be the cause

Center, Mo.-- 4th of July plans were cancelled for a Center, Missouri family after their home caught fire.

It happened shortly after 6am Saturday at 403 1/2 South Center Street. The home belonged to Bob Bridgeman, who wasn't home at the time. Bridgeman's children live next door and woke up to flames and smoke.

We spoke to Bridgeman's son in law. He told us seeing the fire so close to his home was a scary situation.

"It's pretty scary. I got two kids of my own. If it wasn't for the rain and the wind, my house would be on fire. It's pretty scary."

The fire marshal blames the fire on an electrical problem, which may have started in the living room.

Bob Bridgeman lost everything.  He needs clothes and shoes. Pants size 42 X 29, shirt size 2X, socks and shoe size 8 1/2.

If you'd like to help, you can call Tammy Campbell, Bridgeman's daughter at (573) 221-5941.
