Adams County Comprehensive Plan steering committee meeting

QUINCY, IL -- The steering committee for the Adams County Comprehensive Plan Wednesday heard from JEO Consulting about the results of three open houses held during the last two days.

Committee members examined format of the draft plan tonight, as was presented at the open houses.

One of the consultants also outlined comments received at those three meetings.

The consultant presented the interest of many county residents in removing the "future land use" map in the draft, because they fear it would lead to zoning.

The committee voted to remove the map and associated text, but leave the county land use management plan map for further discussion.

The final draft should be finished by late August.
