Hamilton police looking for burglary suspects

Hamilton Police are looking for the person or people responsible for a string of vehicle burglaries overnight Tuesday.

In all the suspect burglarized 14 vehicles, taking items like GPS devices, jewelry, money, billfolds, cell phones, purses, radar detectors and personal items.

The majority of the thefts happened in the residential areas in the central area of town.

Chief Walter Sellens with the Hamilton police department says officers are tracking all leads to catch the crooks, but they need your help.

Chief Sellens said, " Be the eyes for the Police Department. If you hear something a little unusual, even if you just suspect it, we're more than happy to check it out and that will healp us solve a crime."

Chief Sellens says all the burglarized vehicles were unlocked at the time of the theft.

He says residents can help protect themselves from theft by being proactive and locking their vehicles.

Also keep valuables hidden in your car, out of sight from passersby.
