QUINCY IL -- The U.S. Post office launched its new Forever Stamp today. Now the forever stamps sell for 41 cents, while first class stamps are currently 39 cents. That's because standard postage will all be selling for 41 cents after May 14. The Forever stamps will be valid no matter how much postage goes up.
"It may be the longest print run of any stamp we've ever printed. It will continue on forever. Even our kids may be using this stamp as they grow and mail things. It's a new concept in postage. If you buy it today that 41 cent stamp will be good forever," said Ron Puls with the Quincy Post Office.
The cost to buy forever stamps will go up when postage goes up. So it might be wise to stock up on them while they're selling for 41 cents.
