Hundreds show off bikes, trikes and gear

Quincy, Ill.--The rain dampened the plans of the Illinois State Honda Goldwing Riders Summer Rally in Quincy Saturday morning.  But there was still plenty to do indoors at the Civic Center.

About 300 visitors from across the state came to Quincy for their love of Honda Goldwing motorcycles.  The bike's been a popular favorite since the 1970's.  And it's still popular today.  Every year, hundreds rally at national, regional and state conventions to check out the latest gear, bikes and accessories.

We spoke to one woman who's been riding for almost 30 years.  She says riding Goldwings are the perfect for luxurious travel.

"I enjoy it. I enjoy the wind in my face, the openness and just like to get out and you're so carefree when you get out," said rider Joann King of Edwardsville, Ill.

The convention has its benefits to Quincy's economy.  The quincy Area Convention and Visitors Bureau estimates the convention has an economic impact of $96,000 to the local economy.
