QUINCY, IL -- You could call it a spending freeze for the City of Quincy.
That's according to the city's comptroller.
Since the fiscal year began May 1st, the four major revenue sources are down $259,000 or 4.3 percent compared to what was budgeted.
Revenue for the month of July was down $317,000 compared to July of last year.
KHQA spoke with Comptroller Ann Scott about that drop.
She said the income tax showed the biggest decrease.
The other three major revenue sources are sales tax, home sales tax and personal property tax.
Scott said, "I'm not overly concerned. I believe we're still in good shape. We just need to be ready should the trend continue."
Scott told KHQA the city is reviewing all expenditures.
Departments also have been asked not to spend unless it's a purchase that's absolutely necessary.
