QUINCY, Illinois- Despite all the cuts at the state level, there is some good news for Adams County.

The Adams County Teen REACH program will get more than 80 percent of its funding  restored by the state.

That means that 180 thousand 300 dollars for this school year.

In June the program learned that funding for afterschool programs like Teen REACH had been cut out of the state budget.

Coordinator Cindy Roope says that dealing with the state budget crisis has forced to the program to look at other funding sources for the future.

Throughout the year Roope and others will continue to look for other funding opportunities.

The program offers a wide assortment of activities for young people including mentoring and  life skills education among others.
