HUMBOLDT, IOWA (AP) -- About 200 people jammed a Humboldt restaurant to question Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley on heath care reform legislation.
As has happened during past such meetings, those attending Monday's forum generally objected to proposals in the Democrat-controlled Congress to expand health insurance coverage and lower medical costs.
Grassley said he did not disagree with President Barack Obama's contention that Congress was morally obligated to provide health insurance for all Americans. But he added he didn't think government is going to satisfy all the nation's moral obligations.
Grassley is one of six U.S. senators - three Republican, three Democratic - working to come up with a bipartisan health care reform bill.
After the Humboldt meeting, Grassley was scheduled to attend similar meetings in Ruthven, Pocahontas and Rockwell City.
