QUINCY, ILL. -- The Quincy Exchange Club will present Smoke On The River on Sept.11-12 on the Quincy riverfront.

This is a KCBS-sanctioned event.

On Friday, Sept. 11, the BBQ contestants can check in beginning at 9 a.m.

A steak-cooking contest open to amateur and professional chefs starts at 6 p.m.

Entry fee is $25, and the winner receives a BBQ grill.

The Exchange Club's Service Person of the Year Award will be presented at 6:30 p.m.

A steak dinner open to public will begin serving at 7 p.m.; tickets are $15 tickets at the door. 

The Band "
Raised on Radio" will begin playing at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, gates open at 10 a.m.

Food and drinks, along with vendors booths and a kids zone will be available.

Arm bands will be available for $10 and are good from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday; they let you sample the BBQ and vote for the People's Choice Award.

Rick Berry will be on stage at 3 p.m.

The band, The Cheesburgers perform starting at 6 p.m.

Blue Eyed Soul will take the stage at 9 p.m.

BBQ judging will begin at 1 p.m. and the winners will be announced after judging is complete between 4-5 p.m.

Prizes total as follows:  Grand Champion $1,000.00, Reserve Grand Champion $500.00; People's Choice Award 1st Place $250.00, 2nd Place $150.00, 3rd Place $100.00.

In each meat category, prizes are as follows:  1st Place $200.00, 2nd Place $150.00, 3rd Place $125.00, 4th Place $ 75.00, 5th Place $ 50.00, 6th Place $ 50.00, 7th Place $ 50.00, 8th Place $ 50.00.
