The Quincy Humane Society Receives $10,000 Grant from PetSmart Charities® to Neuter Pets
The Quincy Humane Society received a $10,000 grant this week to increase its number of spay/neuter procedures. The organizations 7 year old High Volume, High Quality, Low Cost Spay Neuter pet sterilization program is striving to achieve 5000 surgeries annually to proactively fight the area’s dire pet over-population problem.
The program offers free and low cost spay/neuter services for pets residing in the Tri-State region. To view more information on our services please check our website at www.quincyhumanesociety.org.
“With this grant the Quincy Humane Society is happy to offer assistance to pet owners with more than one cat. We are asking the pet owners to pay $35.00 for the first cat and this will include spay/neuter and vaccinations. The grant will then pay for the rest of the cats from the group. We are excited to increase the total number of spay/neuter surgeries at our organization” said Sally Westerhoff, Executive Director of the Quincy Humane Society. “Our organization is a member of the National Spay Neuter Response team and is a model for other agencies across the country. In addition to this grant, we have other programs for a variety of pets and circumstances. We encourage you to call us at 217-223-8786 and inquire about our various resources for pet owners.”
