QUINCY, ILL. -- You've heard of the phrase "a walk down memory lane."

Thursday night, it was all about a memory walk, itself, at Clat Adams Park in Quincy.

Hundreds turned out for the 13th annual Memory Walk, sponsored by the Quincy Area Alzheimer's Association.

Alzheimer's disease is now the seventh leading cause of death in the U.S.

It's estimated that someone in our country develops the disease every 70 seconds.

KHQA asked an organizer of about the event's success and turnout this year.

Janet Veach with the Quincy Area Alzheimer's Association said, "We ordered 400 t-shirts, and I think we have two left. I think this is the best event we've ever had."

The Quincy Area Alzheimer's Association provides programs and services to residents in Adams, Brown, Hancock, Pike and Schuyler counties.
