WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Republican senator in the Group of Six that's trying to fashion a health care compromise says non-profit cooperatives might be the way to cover the uninsured.

Interviewed Tuesday morning on CNN, Sen. Charles Grassley also said he's still interested in finding a bipartisan consensus on how best to overhaul the country's system of health care.

Grassley said he's concerned than an idea floated this weekend - to charge a fee on insurance companies to help pay for coverage for people without it - might end up being passed on to other premium holders. The Iowa Republican also said he'll continue to work toward an agreement even though he wants nothing to do with "Obama care," - what he called nationalizing health care.
