QUINCY, IL -- This Saturday morning went to the dogs in South Park in Quincy.
Droves turned out for the 15th annual Mutt Strutt, which is an annual fund raiser for the Quincy Humane Society.
This year's theme was "Woofstock," in honor of the 40th-year anniversary of Woodstock.
KHQA's Rajah Maples had the difficult job of judging several "mutt" contests along with representatives from other media outlets in Quincy.
We spoke with Executive Director Sally Westerhoff about the event's success.
Westerhoff said, "The park was full today. I think we had another record-breaking event. We're hoping for $40,000 this year."
Westerhoff told KHQA interest in the Quincy Humane Society, its mission and all of its activities are getting better, year after year.
Westerhoff said, "I think the new facility has really brought a lot of presence to the humane society."
Saturday's Mutt Strutt started out with a pet blessing, followed by a walk around Quincy's South Park.
Participants and their best friends had a number of choices, ranging from a dog agility course to food for both pets and their owners.
