State Veterans’ Affairs Announces "Helping Our Hometown Heroes" Event in Quincy for Local Veterans, Families, and Friends
QUINCY – The Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA) will host a Helping Our Hometown Heroes event at the Illinois Veterans’ Home, American Legion Pavilion, 1707 N. 12th St. in Quincy, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 9, 2009. This event is for Veterans, their families, and friends. Federal, state and local agencies and organizations will come together for the event that is dedicated to assisting military heroes and their families in getting the benefits they have earned and deserve.
"Helping our Veterans is a priority for IDVA and Helping Our Hometown Heroes events provide opportunities to make sure that Veterans and their families get the assistance they need," said Director Dan Grant. "Local Veterans and their families can receive one-on-one assistance from professionals who know about the resources that are available to take care of our service men and women. It is also a great way to learn about state and federal benefits. I urge all Veterans, their families, friends, and members of the community to come out to this event."
Helping Our Hometown Heroes events are held statewide. All local Veterans, family members, friends and neighbors are welcome and encouraged to attend.
