Adams County Activates Flu Information Hotline
Adams County is pleased to announce the activation of an automated call in line that will answer general questions about seasonal and H1N1 influenza. The Flu Information Hotline will be active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The number to call is 1-217-277-5900.
This number is a cooperative effort between many local private and public organizations involved in the H1N1 influenza response.
The number will allow residents to call in to hear information about seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccine availability, the signs and symptoms of influenza, what to do when you feel that you may be ill with flu like illnesses and other general information.
Healthcare providers in Adams County have experienced a large increase in telephone inquiries about vaccine, treatment and other general flu information. This line will give residents a fast and easy option when calling about general flu information. Residents are encouraged to contact the Flu Information Hotline first when seeking general information, and then calling the agency they typically receive healthcare or information from only if their questions were not answered by the Flu Information Hotline.
