QUINCY, IL -- Sickness isn't just hitting hard in Northeast Missouri.
KHQA's Rajah Maples spoke with Quincy Public School Superintendent Lonny Lemon Monday evening.
He said me absences in his school district Monday ranged between 5- and 14 percent, depending on the school building.
Those figures compare to a 7- to 8 percent absence rate during a normal day.
Quincy Public School's largest three schools, the senior high, junior high and Baldwin school, were hit the hardest.
Baldwin School had 223 students gone Monday, which equals out to 12 percent for that particular school.
Lemon said the district is working with the Adams County Health Department to monitor the situation.
