DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- The head of a Des Moines-based temporary employment agency has been arrested in Florida on a wire fraud charge in connection with the embezzlement of funds.
Court records indicate Randy Stringer was arrested by the FBI in Miami for allegedly illegally transmitting money to a woman in the Dominican Republic. The $2,000 allegedly was embezzled from DES Staffing Services Inc.
According to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court by FBI Special Agent Kevin Kohler, the 46-year-old Stringer is suspected using a variety of schemes since 2007 to steal more than $1 million from DES Staffing.
Kohler's affidavit says DES Staffing president and CEO Dan Sethi became suspicious of Stringer's behavior because of his frequent foreign travel and evasiveness when questioned about by company finances.
DES Staffing has offices in five states.
