SIOUX CITY, IOWA (AP) -- The U.S. attorney for northern Iowa says a woman convicted of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Yvette Franco-Mendoza of Sioux City pleaded guilty in August to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

During her plea hearing before U.S. District Court Judge Mark W. Bennett, Franco-Mendoza admitted that between October 2004 and November 2006 she and others conspired to distribute more than two pounds of methamphetamine in the Sioux City area.

In addition to the two-year prison sentence, Franco-Mendoza must serve three years of supervised release. Bennett also imposed a special assessment of $100.
