MENDON, ILL. -- Jon McCoy has announced his candidacy for Sheriff of Adams County for the 2010 election.
He has lived in Adams County for over 40 years and he wants to represent this county as Sheriff.
McCoy says in his press release, "My passion has been Law Enforcement for 28 years, during which time I devoted myself to making our county a safer place by serving as Chief Deputy for 17 ½ years. I also served as Lead Investigator with court-room credibility on major cases. During my time with the Adams County Sheriff’s office I assisted in Developing the Adams County 911 Services Program, Drug Task Force, DARE, Sexual Offenders List, Court House Security System, S.W.A.P Sheriffs Work Alternative Program, Special Deputy program while participating in County's Neighborhood Watch, Crime Stoppers and the 1st to bring Electronic Technology to jail processing, office computers and filing processing."
