For the past two years, the Hannibal Police Department has sent out a community survey with a monthly utility bill.

This year, the department is doing something a little different, and bringing the survey directly to the public.

The plan is to send officers into businesses over the next several weeks.

There will be a table set up with pamphlets and surveys for people to take.

"A little bit of a personal touch. Some people may not want to actually fill out a survey, but they may want to offer a word or comment they wish would get across. That info will be taken down, documented, and given to the office of the Chief of Police," says Captain Jim Hark.

The surveys are for the people of Hannibal, but Captain Jim Hark tells me if you're visiting Hannibal and see the officers, feel free to share any thoughts with them anyway.

Here's a schedule of where and when you can find officers out and about with the survey.
