QUINCY, IL -- Drive-thru customers at Hardees got more than just food today. They were reminded about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Students from Quincy Notre Dame chapter of Students Against Destructive Decision or SADD stood out in the cold tying red ribbons to cars.
The effort is a part of MADD or Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
Ribbons were given to anyone who wanted them, at no charge, as visual reminder not to drive while under the influence.
The President of QND's SADD Chapter, Anne Jochem, endured the chilly weather in order to remind people how important it is to never drink and drive, especially during the holidays.
"Drinking and driving has caused many accidents it's one of the leading things that causes death so we are just here to support that," said Jochem.
Project Red Ribbon is a nationwide campaign that goes until the new year to remind people not to drink and drive.
Quincy school kids were given red ribbons this year to give to their parents.
The purpose is to start a discussion about the dangers of drinking and driving.
