The Hannibal Police Department says they arrested a man who shoplifted several items from the Wal-Mart store last night and tried to run from officers who responded to the scene.
Charged with stealing and resisting arrest is 23 year old Chad Brooks.
Store employees saw Brooks steal several items and leave the store.
Once police arrived they found him at another store in the shopping center and when they tried to arrest him he struggled with officers.
Brooks went to the Marion County Jail.
The merchandise was returned to the store.
