DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- With the heavy snow blanketing Iowa, police report they are dealing with more than weather-related traffic mishaps.
According to police, a Des Moines man was arrested late Tuesday for the robbery of a local liquor store.
Officials say 18-year-old Jacob Denniston tried to steal a bottle of liquor, was caught in the act, and struggled with an employee when he was stopped.
The employee was able to detain him with the assistance of a relative and held him for police.
Des Moines police also say they have no arrests in the robbery of a convenience store.
Investigators said a middle-age man late Tuesday entered a Kum & Go with a knife, pointed it at a clerk and demanded all the bills in the cash register.
The man left with $127 in cash.
