Third ward seat to be filled
HANNIBAL, MO. -- Seven people have expressed interest in Hannibal's third ward council seat.
Friday was the deadline to turn in a letter of intent to city hall.
Those seven people are:
Robert Saxbury
Jack Moore
Louis Barta
Monica Williams
Wesley Knapp
Donald Sagar
Roy Que Ferrel, Jr.
They want to succeed Mayor Pro Tem Kyle Wilson.
He passed away last month.
These seven Hannibal residents will be interviewed by the council at a special meeting on December 29 starting at 6:30 p.m.
The council could appoint a replacement at the January 5, 2010 council meeting.
That person will serve until a councilperson is elected in April.
By the way, all seven also have filed for the third ward seat in that election.
