KEOKUK, IOWA -- It's a game of "wait and see" for the City of Keokuk surrounding a house on 323 Concert Street.

You'll recall KHQA first reported on this rundown property two months ago.

The house was posted unsafe to occupy July 21st, 2004.

You might recall at least four dogs are still in the house, which has no heat. And they haven't been let out of the house since 2004, according to housing official Kathy Mahoney.

KHQA's Rajah Maples spoke with her Monday afternoon.

Mahoney told KHQA the case was supposed to go to court December 9th. That's when the city was planning to ask a judge to allow it to remove the dogs and demolish the property.

The owner's lawyer, however, asked for a continuance, which was granted.

Mahoney said she's not sure when the next court date will be scheduled.
