JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- Another Missouri official is urging reforms in the state's political ethics rules.

Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon on Wednesday urged lawmakers to make four changes during their annual session that starts next week.

Nixon says there should be caps on how much can be donated to officials' campaigns and restrictions on moving money between campaign committees.

Nixon also called for a waiting period before lawmakers could become lobbyists and a ban on legislators working as political consultants for their colleagues.

Members of both parties in the Missouri House and Senate already have suggested a variety of new ethics rules.

The push for ethics reform follows a year in which numerous lawmakers have been accused of crimes and three resigned their seats.
