Wants to revitalize state's economy
QUINCY, ILL. -- Illinois state representative Jil Tracy may soon have company at the Capitol.
That's because her brother-in-law Don Tracy is running for Lt. Governor. Tracy is a partner at one of the oldest law firms in Illinois. It's also where Abraham Lincoln first practiced law. He also helped build his family's business, Dot Foods.
Tracy says he's running for Lt. Governor because he wants to make Illinois less anti-business, less corrupt and more financially responsible and better managed. Tracy also says, because he's older, he has more experience than his opponents.
"The state is in serious financial crisis. This is no time for on-the-job training. It's time for someone who's had experience turning businesses around, helping clients in serious financial difficulty. I have that experience and my opponents don't," he says.
