Quinn to name new commerce commission chair

CHICAGO, ILL. (AP) -- Gov. Pat Quinn has announced plans to name a new chairperson for the Illinois Commerce Commission.

Quinn has a news conference scheduled for Monday in Chicago to discuss the appointment.

According to the ICC's Web site, current chair Charles Box was appointed by former Gov. Rod Blagojevich effective in January 2006.

His term was to expire in January 2009.

Box is the former mayor of Rockford.

The commerce commission determines utility rates in the state.
