QUINCY, ILL. -- More than 20 vehicles in Quincy have been vandalized from December 22nd through January 4th.

The first wave of vandalisms took place in the Southwest part of Quincy.

Take a look at this map of vandalism sites:

About 14 of these cars were sprayed with black paint.

Some of those vehicles also had mirrors and windshields broken.

Most of the damage has been done to the left sides of these vehicles.

A second wave of vandalisms took place the evening of Sunday, Jan. 3rd.

Seven more cars were hit this time with silver spray paint.

These new events occurred in the 100 and 200 blocks of Locust Street.

Quincy Police say the best way for police to catch the suspects is with the help of the public.

Deputy Chief Ron Dreyer says if anyone sees a suspicious car or person in their neighborhood, call 911 or Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers.

Police are stepping up patrols in the areas that have been hit.
