HANNIBAL, MO -- Hannibal schools are seeking voter approval to build two new facilities and upgrade other buildings without raising taxes.
Board members agreed Wednesday night to put a $13 million bond issue on the April 6 ballot.
A simple majority is required for passage.
Revenue from bond sales would pay for a new Mark Twain Elementary School, an Early Childhood Education Center and work at each attendance center.
Administrators say the district is in sound financial shape and can avoid a tax increase to pay off the bonds.
Residents can get a look at the plans next Tuesday night at 6:30 when the district hosts a campaign kickoff at Veterans Elementary.
