QUINCY, ILL. -- On February 3rd Members “First” Community Credit Union will be implementing a Mad City Money Reality Fair Presentation at Quincy Junior High School.
Mad City Money is a program for high school students that teaches basic money management.
A presentation on budgeting likely will put teens to sleep.
Yet this hands-on event appeals to teens and gives them a taste of the real world—complete with occupation, salary, spouse, student loan debt, credit card debt, and medical insurance payments.
Local teens will get an instant family and then move about the various stations to purchase housing, transportation, food, clothing, household necessities, day care, and other needs from the below local merchants.
Members “First” Community Credit Union wants teens to be money savvy, rather than starting out life headed in the wrong direction.
There will be 4 sessions throughout the school day, from 7:45am to 1:45pm.
For information on this event contact Melissa Clopper at Members "First" Community Credit Union by calling 217-223-4384, ext. 304 or go online to www.membersfirstcunion.com.
