The Illinois Department of Transportation wants your feedback on the highway system.

IDOT held an informational and feedback meeting this week in Quincy.

It showed off the Multi-Year Program for Highway Improvements plan which totals a little more than eleven billion dollars.

It focuses mainly on maintenance of the current road system for the next eleven to 15 years.

This is the first time IDOT has done something like this.

"Public input is always a good thing. That way they can get our process of how we go about programming roads or engineering roads. To get the public's aspects of any questions or comments they may have. We try to get let the public get involved," says Jay Wavering with IDOT.

You can still take a look at the plans and give IDOT your feedback online.
