Raises money for special olympics
LOUISIANA, MO -- Sure it was cold this weekend, but that was nothing for these guys and gals out in Louisiana, Missouri Saturday.
They were freezin' for a reason. More than 30 people from around the area dressed in their winter best and took the polar plunge into the icy Mississippi River. The event was part of the annual Winter River Festival. Plungers raised more than three thousand dollars for Special Olympics.
Other activities included a sneakers and snowflakes run, wine tasting, craft show and the melting sculpture called the house of fire and ice.
