“Growing Forward Together” was the message conveyed at the annual George H. Riedel Private Foundation Annual Celebration hosted by F & M Bank and Trust Company, Monday night at its main bank location at 505 Broadway, Hannibal, Missouri.
The annual event is an opportunity for community and organization leaders to come together to celebrate the accomplishments of 2009 and look to continuing the vision in 2010 for the citizens of Hannibal Missouri through funds available from the Riedel foundation.
Stevens Plowman, President of the bank and a member of the foundation committee informed those in attendance, "Some 287 different grants have been funded since 2000 for a total of $2,300,000.00 has been given out ."
26 various programs and projects were funded and represented by 21 organizations in 2009.
The community, organization leaders, and the Riedel Foundation will continue ‘growing forward together’ with the qualifying organizations whose dedication and vision make Hannibal Missouri a better place to live.
Reed states, “It is the Trustees of the George H. Riedel Private Foundation wish all organizations success in accomplishing their mission as we the foundation strive to continue to fulfill ours which is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Hannibal Missouri."
We are here to help and Tamara Reed Manager of Trust Services reiterates the mission and she urges organizations, "Take time to communicate the complete overall understanding of your 501 c 3 organization and the request. Even organizations that have been with us for multiple years need to do this. Organization changes and our directors’ perception and understanding of your organization can change."
Tamara S. Reed, Vice President & Trust Officer/Manager of Trust, reminds us, “F & M Bank and Trust Company, Wealth Management Group/Trust Services, as Trustee of the George H. Riedel Private Foundation gives away several hundred thousand of dollars each year to satisfy the foundation’s minimum distribution requirement. In 2010, the foundation will distribute $260,000.00 to qualifying 501c3 organizations whose program/project benefits the citizens of Hannibal, Missouri."
