QUINCY, ILLINOIS -- The future of the 6th ambulance for Adams County may be decided at Tuesday night's County Board meeting.

On Tuesday morning Ambulance Service Director  Paul Davis told the Adams County Ambulance Board that in a split decision, the Adams County Board finance committee voted not to endorse the plan for a 6th ambulance.

One reason given is that the service is efficient enough already.

Another reason is that the estimated 1 minute improvement in response time was not worth the burden on tax payers.

A sixth ambulance would be paid for in part, through a 25 percent fee increase.

Members of the ambulance board are expected to address the issues at Tuesday night's county board meeting at 7pm.
