John Wood Community College is taking part in a program that showcases the importance of libraries in Illinois.
QUINCY, ILL. --
The program is called: Snapshot: One Day in the Life of Illinois Libraries.

On Wednesday the staff at the library started gathering different types of statistical information including photo and comments from students and other patrons.

With more than 14 thousand books and 88 computers the John Wood library is a valuable resource for everybody in the community.

About 8 thousand people used the school's library every year.

The library's director of services, Pat Woodworth hopes that this project will send a message to state leaders.

She says that libraries are providing more and more services on less and less money from the state.

Once all the data is gathered it will be published on the Illinois Library Associations website.
