QUINCY, ILL. -- A 24 year old man involved in shooting another man in Quincy last summer is headed to prison for the next 18 years.

Mortez Valentine pleaded guilty earlier to aggravated battery with a firearm.

Valentine shot through the front door of a house on Chestnut street last August and injured a man inside.

The victim ended up losing his arm due to the shooting.

Valentine will have to serve at least 15 and a half years in prison before being considered for parole.
