QUINCY, IL -- Feline owners from Adams County did their part to cut down on cat overpopulation in the area.

The Quincy Humane Society hosted "No Fathers Day" Free Cat Neuters at its facility Monday.

It was part of Spay Day, which is a national campaign to promote the life-saving benefits of spay/neuter.

86 male cats were neutered at the humane society as part of the special event.

The Humane Society of the United States estimates that a pair of breeding cats and their offspring can produce more than 400,000 cats in 7 years
