DAVENPORT, IOWA (AP) -- Authorities have released the name of a man who died after he jumped from the top of a parking ramp in downtown Davenport during a police chase.
The Scott County sheriff's office says 25-year-old Andre Klinghammer, of Davenport, died early Sunday. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
Police were sent to the parking ramp on a report of a possible sexual assault.
As police were checking the ramp, they saw a car hit a van before driving up to the higher levels. The car hit a police cruiser and a parked car on the fourth floor. The driver got out the car, fled on foot and jumped over a railing and fell to the ground below.
Klinghammer's death remains under investigation.
