The Quincy Family YMCA is asking the community to assist them in creating "Strong Kids" in the community.

Campaigners kicked off the Y's annual "Strong Kids Campaign" tonight, with the goal of raising 80 thousand dollars this year.

The funds raised will go towards Youth Programming, including money for youth sports, school age childcare, swimming lessons for low income kids and membership assistance for youth under the age of 18.

In the coming weeks, more than 100 of these campaigners will be calling and visiting donors and local businesses, hoping to gather donations towards the cause.
