AMES, IOWA (AP) -- The Iowa Department of Transportation says it has awarded the final two state and local highway projects funded through last year's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Department spokeswoman Dena Gray-Fisher said Wednesday the two projects, which are for a total of more than $5.2 million, were awarded Feb. 16.

One of the contracts was for the grading of a portion of U.S. 20. That $3 million contract went to C.J. Moyna & Sons Inc., of Elkader.

The other contract, for more than $2.2 million, was for a pedestrian bridge over Interstate 80 in Iowa City. It went to Peterson Contractors Inc., of Reinbeck.
