Hannibal is getting some national attention from a popular magazine.

Midwest Living is featuring America's Hometown in this month's edition in honor of 2010 being the Year of Twain.

It marks 100 years since the famous author's death and 175 years since his birth.

Hannibal was also recently featured in the Chicago Tribune and the St. Louis Post Dispatch.

Convention and Visitor's Bureau Executive Director Beau Hicks says it's priceless publicity... And it's already filling up hotel rooms in town.

Hicks said, "A few weeks ago we were in the Tribune and the Post-Dispatch and those stories have been all over. Now with this and Midwest Living we've already got hotels and Bed and Breakfast's rooms filling up for the Fourth of July due to this."

By the way, Hannibal will get international attention next week when a reporter with the London Telegraph arrives to write a story of his own.
