Two people brought out of house in handcuffs
QUINCY, ILL. -- A traffic accident turned into a 5 hour standoff on Thursday in Quincy.
It all started on Tuesday.
The Illinois State Police were investigating a traffic accident at 12th and Lind in Quincy and as a result of that investigation a warrant was issued for Isaiah Murray.
On Thursday the Quincy police found out that Murray was hiding out at 637 1/2 Lind.
On-lookers told KHQA police began driving around the house on the corner of 7th and Lind around 2:30 Thursday afternoon.
KHQA arrived on the scene around 5:45 and an officer with the Quincy Police Department said the house had been surrounded and one person was inside.
He would not specify if the suspect had a weapon but officers were treating it like he did.
A police dog was taken into the home shortly after 7pm.
Around 7:45 two people, Isaiah Murray and Kimberly Koontz were brought out of the house in handcuffs.
Murray faces a number of charges including: leaving the scene of an accident, failure to register as a sex offender and unlawful possesion of weapon by a felon.
Koontz is charged with harboring a fugitive and obstruction of justice.
Both are in custody in the Adams County Jail.
